Project 1: The Hitchhiking cultural itinary Web App

Context of our project

when? where? who? why?

Currently, museum are perceived as outdated for most of the students and young people. This can be explained by a lack of accessibility to these museums and a lack in pedagogy to deliver the knowledge anf culture that a museum must transmit. Beside, young people and students are always looking for travel, exploration and mobility. However, as without financial resources, students and youngs are stuck and higlhy limitate to fill all their discovery wishes. Finally if we melt these different facts, a gap between the discovery wish and lack of mobility of this population is immediately identifiable. Therefore, we propose to these students and young people a better and free access to culture thought the creation of a personalized cultural hitchhiking itinary. Our web App will offer to anyone to create a cultural itinary according to its exploration and discovering wishes. For instance, if you wish to discover the culinary culture of a region, you will just need to select this category within our WebApp and we will give you a tailored map to hitchhiker over all the interisting and important places to go to learn and discover the culture of the selected culinary region. Our app will obsiously take in account all the best hitchiker spots among the region to simplify your hitchhiker journey ! To end, and make the experience the mode playful as possible, everytime that you will finish to follow an itinary, your personal cultural map will be filled and give you access to some gifts !

Target

for whom?

Our main target will be the students and young people who love travelling through hitchhiking that is to say people who go from a point A to point B by asking individuals, usually strangers, for a ride in their automobile or other vehicle. These young men and women usually go through several cities during their trip and usually they don't have time to stay for a long period in this city and therefore they can't discover the local culture, traditions, history etc. They would be interest in our solution because it allows them to adapt their journey depending on which cultural discovery attract them. Furthermore, they can also meet people that are doing the same journey as them and share their mutual interest. This web app, will also be a mean for museum and other cultural institution to promote their offer and their uniqueness towards these young generation.

Service offered

what? how?

As explained before, our Web App will create personalized cultural itineary for hitchhikers. The Web App will work in a pretty simple way, the users will just have to indicate the starting and ending point of its journey, then to select the theme he wants to discover about ( among the following : museum, gastronomy, antiquity, landscape, modern history). Finally from these data our App will design a personnalized cultural itinerary for the user. As our app also contains all the data about the best hitchhiking spots and "rest places", the itinary will be design according to these data and to always improve the cultural hitchhing journey by lowering the wasting time ( when you are looking for a new car to moove) Then, according to the visited spots, our app will fill the cultural map of the users and credit points on the user cultural score.

Identity

Here is the moodboard for our first project. These photos inspired us to design our concept and we hope it will give you an idea of the universe we ant to work in.

Benchmark

As our service answers to a specific and narrow market gap, the concurrence around our activity is pretty low and targets another kind of population than young people. However you can find below a list of our identied concurrents which offer similar services.

Project 2: A game in team inside the museum

Context

when? where? who? why?

The objective of this second idea is to make the visit of the museums more playful. Indeed, the visit will turn into a game because users will have missions to achieve throughout their visit. On our application, the rooms of the museum correspond to a world, as in a video game. To move to the next room, and thus unlock the world, visitors will have to take pictures or find information. This game is necessarily played in team. We want to find the spirit of mutual aid and solidarity of the concept of hitchhiking.

Thus this application will be created in partnership with the museums which know well the contents of their visit.

Target

for whom?

Escape games are designed for all those who enjoy having fun, discover new horizon, playing as a team and who are looking for a new innovative concept. Whether you are a group of friends, family, colleagues or museum lovers, everyone will benefit. The Escape Games are also excellent for team cohesion. It will be possible to choose a route for children or adults in order that families play together. We want to target a broad target to reinvigorate museum visits. The school visits could perfectly match our target because museums often look for entertainment to attract the young visitors. Answering questions during the visit is a good way to motivate them and to go as far as possible in the museum while learning and remembering the most important information of the exhibition. Multiple paths can be taken by your team. Your freedom is key to us. Finally, as soon as you can read, you will become inside the museum an hitchhiker. Children must be accompanied.

Service offered

what? how?

As explained earlier, our concept will be created on an application. This app can be downloaded on his own smartphone and on the audioguide distributed at the entrance of the museum. Visitors from the same group will have access to a joint session and will have different challenges to realize in the same room of the museum. When all members have validated their challenge, then the team can go to the next world together. Challenges unfold as rooms open. We can compare this application with the operation of an escape game: the challenges make progress in the visit and gradually bring visitors closer to the exit.

Rules

how to respect?

First, download and open the application made for you. You will enter your licence plate distributed by your driver in order to create your team of hitchhikers. Each adventure contains 6 parts. In each part, you must find either find the painting or the piece of sculpture asking or answer the audio. Find the right art or answer to pass and access the next world of the game. Otherwise, you will be blocked in your current world. Get creative and use the efficiency of your team to solve the issue. If you still have an issue, find the several guide available for you in each room. Finally, as soon as you pass the 6 worlds, you won the game. We did not include any limited time on purpose. Indeed, the hitchhiker you are, are not in a hurry and therefore take his time to discover the world in front of him.
Last advice, drive carefully and take your time!

Benchmark

Our concept doest not exist yet. Museums really want to enhance the visit experience so it's a current topic. Closest concurrents are escape games inside museums but their don't include gaming.
